County 1184
Here's a fine selection of snaps from Gerald and Terry
Bowden showing the capabilities of their 1184 and Dowdeswell
5f plough working on the hills of Mid Devon.
Re: County 1184
you can just smell the fresh earth and diesel smoke :-)
Re: County 1184
Our thanks to Gerald and Terry for sharing these excellent
Re: County 1184
Great pictures Richard.
Will there be a County day this year? Could you tell me
when, I would love to go there since I'll be working in
Suffolk this year.

Greetings Bart
Re: County 1184
Hello Bart,

There are so far three County events in Britain and Ireland
this autumn

28th > 29th August at Moreleigh, Totnes. Devon

link to map....[they are a bit broken so 'paste' the whole

4th > 5th September at Ludlow, Shropshire.

25th September at Newry/Armagh Northern Ireland [Guinness

Speaking of the Devon event, its going to be on our bank
holiday weekend so you can be sure that the roads to the
westcountry will be jammed solid, especially on the Saturday
morning as all them city folks head for the beautiful Devon
countryside [and the Countys]. Likewise finding a bed for
the night isn't gonna be book early!

Links to accomodation....

alternatively my folks run a small Bed & Breakfast here on
our farm in Salcombe - its enough for 5 people and another
30 mins drive from the event but well worth it ;-), if
you're interested let me know.

o.k. see you there

Re: County 1184
Good Pictures there Richard. The one going up the hill is
really good.
Here's one of our 1184 a couple of months ago not working as
hard as Gerald and Terry's though.
Re: County 1184
Hiya James, credit for those pics goes to Gerald, not me; I
only posted them up for him.

Is that soil you're ploughing very 'boney'?....if its
anything like here in the 'Promised Land' [Salcombe] you'll
find more earth on the bottom of my boots.:-)

Hows that other 1184 coming on?

Re: County 1184
Richard, (or Gerald) I see from the photo it looks like it
was originally registered from Carlisle. Do you know who's
it was?
Re: County 1184
over to you on this 1, Gerald.....

good to hear from you again Jim, how's it going up your neck
of the woods?
Re: County 1184
Speaking of woods Richard, I've just got myself an 1124 ex
forestry. Hopefully it will look as good as Nick M's one
day. I've had a go posting a photo of it, but for some
reason I'm having trouble with my PC.
Re: County 1184
Hiya Richard, well the 1184 Project is coming on slowly at
the mo. We're trying to source parts for the cab and engine.
We've managed to get hold of the back end of 7710 Ford for
parts for the gearbox and hydraulics as part of them were
damaged, when the county was loaded up on a truck to get it
home :-(. But the main reason for slowing down is due to
dismantling a shed on a local farm, so it can be rebuilt at
our place as a workshop. So once it's up the County will be
moved in there to be rebuilt.
