Pivot Stuck In Waterway
We have the driest conditions in many years and the pivot
got stuck in a grass waterway !!!

Toke was running the irrigation systems, we think it was his
fault for getting it stuck!

Thanks to Mitch & Pudding for getting it out of the

Taken in near Madisonville, KY. USA.
Re: Pivot Stuck In Waterway
Irrigation makes the difference !
Re: Pivot Stuck In Waterway
This corn field is around 300 acres. The field to the left
is 220 acres.
Re: Pivot Stuck In Waterway
Hey Phil

How did that get stuck? Did something break on it? Or was it
just some quicksand?
Re: Pivot Stuck In Waterway
The waterway where the pivot got stuck is always lower and
water will stand there as a result. The pivot has been
through this spot 10-12 times in the same wheeltracks,
gradually sinking deeper each pass, eventually dragging the
frame and getting stuck. We dropped a backhoe bucket full of
gravel in the trench after Pudding pulled it out, to try and
get it through OK next time around. Stay tuned !
Re: Pivot Stuck In Waterway
I have been all over Kentucky and that general area. I do
not remember it ever being that flat and open!! I guess I
will have to get off the paved road next time!! Are the
fields that big every where in that area? Or are these just
big farmers? Thanks!!!
