Redpainter 106298 103 going up south slope either
going up south slope
IH 403 climbing up south slope of pea field. 4 way levelling
is more important in grains to reduce loss and also more
comfort for the operator.
Re: going up south slope
How old is that IH combine? Early 60's??
Re: going up south slope
If my memory serves me correct the IH 403 was manufactured
only for one year and that was 1971 or 72. Please correct me
if need be.
Re: going up south slope
I know my Dad had two of these, and one of them was made in
the mid 60's. There were a lot of these built over quite a
lengthy time span.
Re: going up south slope
my father ran the 123 then the 141 then the 151 then he ran
the standard shift 403 with variable speed foot pedal mid
60s late 60s came out with the hydrostatic 403s, 70s were
the 815s & 915s
Re: going up south slope
the 403 in the picture is a standard shift variable speed
foot pedal, notice smaller pulley just bellow the large
seperator pulley. the rotor drive on the axile flow works on
the same principle the drive pulley is manualy opened or
closed to speed up or slow down the driven pulley thus
variable speed
