Re: harvest 04
Yo Matt! Nice looking set up at your grain bins. Here is
a shot of one of our sets; we have several moves so this
type of auger works good for us. This 10" baby will suck
the end gate right off the truck. Where do you deliver
when you come out of the bins? We haul into The Dalles;
from there the grain is barged down to Portland. :-D
Re: harvest 04
john this is another set of bins two 6" into 10" rice is
harvested @ below 21 percent moisture dried down with heat
100 degree then it's ready to be sold or stacked away rice
mills are fairly close to us so it's trucked directly to
mill or barge at the port depends if mill wants to mill it
or move it out rough overseas. soybeans most farmers here
ship strait out the field to the port either bunge in
mermentau or cargil in Baton Rouge, we usually put ours thru
the bins to mix and make sure moisture is good then we go by
truck to cargil or zenoh in Donaldsonville 50 miles south of
Baton Rouge PS beans need rain bad very dry now their
calling for rain this weekend we'll keep praying see
Re: harvest 04
john these two sets of bins are from the 60's 21&27' bins I
refurbished them new augers and blowers weather here is hard
on equipment lately bin market has sored mostly 36's&42ft
bins they use the master mover or the grain pumps most are
inline like yours we use to dump grain strait into the
cement pit in pic but ground water was always a problem so
we figured this method is much better ground water here
starts at about 4 1/2' so pit can't be very deep:-\
