Plowing 2004 in tuscany, Italy. My D5 in 4th gear is pulling
a Nardi 2 furrow plow. The working depth is 40cm.

Lorenzo, how often do you plow the field with the plow? How
wide of a working width does it cover? Am I correct to
assume this is to prevent compaction because you don't have
soil freezing deep in the winter?

I plow every year half of my hectares, simply to prepare
soil for seeding Farro (triticum dicoccum) The plow work
every time 1,5/1,8 meter 40/45 cm depth. we work
approximately 10/12 hectares a day.

We call the piece where we work "voltura". Here Marcello is
closing a voltura. Opening and closing voltura is a hard
work, and it becomes harder as the soil is wet.
