unfinished sprayer chassis
Well, its a start. Someday hopefully I'll have a tracked
sprayer to run.
Re: unfinished sprayer chassis
The tracks are more exspensive than the car i think :-P
Re: unfinished sprayer chassis
How do you turn this car? Do you use the steeringwheel to
turn the front tracks like an ordinary car, or have you done
something to the whole chassis? You have built a nice
monster :-P
Re: unfinished sprayer chassis
I use the steering wheel to turn. All four corners are
mechanicly hooked tegether so it steers quite tight. The
tracks really are not that expensive. They are the metal
imbedded tracks like a miniexcavator uses. That is why I
decided to build this chassis. The tracks are not rated for
high speed, but no one would tell me about testing for max
seed. My research showed the main reason for this type of
track to fail was due to heat generation from bending the
track too tight around the undercarriage. My design has
active track tensioner system. This helps keep tracks cooler
plus still retain protection from over tension if foreign
object is introduced.
I have more pics of rig when turned. And a few more
detailed pictures. I just dont know how to post them on this
same thread yet. I can email some though if anyone is

Hello Don Kauer,

Just above the area you can write your comment in is a grey
rectangluar with "Add Picture" writen on it.

One click with your mouse on it and you are able to post
another Photo.

Best regards, Frank
Re: unfinished sprayer chassis
Thanks Frank, I'll give it a try.
Re: unfinished sprayer chassis
This is a picture of it turned. Hopefully?!
Re: unfinished sprayer chassis
Here I tried to get a pic of the turning circle. The tracks
dont scrub that bad when all four turn so it did'nt disturb
the gravel all that much. You should still be able to see
the approximate circle though.
Re: unfinished sprayer chassis
I´m afraid my Truck 4runner needs more space to turn.
Re: unfinished sprayer chassis
Frank, just bring it on over to my shop and we'll fix it.
The pick up is only bolted down to the chassis. I can have
the pickup off the chassis and back on the road in a few
hours. No holes have been drilled in the pickup nor anything
welded to it.
We can probably put your 4runner on it in no time:-D
Re: unfinished sprayer chassis
Thanks for the invitation!

But, I´m afraid my old Toyota can´t swim :-(
Do you when they start to build a bridge between Europe and
North America? :-)
Re: unfinished sprayer chassis
To South America Wouldn´t be a problem either! On this kind
of distances a few miles more or less doesn´t matter anymore
Re: unfinished sprayer chassis
I'll get right on that.
Tell ya what, you start from your end, and I'll start from
mine, and we'll have er done in seconds flat.;-)
