Ford 5610. The humble scraper. Quite comfortable for a
scraper really. Very reliable but has a useless gearbox.
Re: 5610
Whats wrong with the gearbox Owain?
Re: 5610
Hi James,
I dont like the gearbox because its so untidy, if you
see what i mean. The z shift takes time to get used to and
tidy shifts are still a hit or miss afair even when ur an
expert. Why they couldnt make it fully syncro beats me. Its
pretty bomb proof i think but not very user friendly. Dual
power is an exelent feeture though.

Re: 5610
Are the gear levers on the floor between your legs, or on
the steering column? We use a floor change AP cab 6610 on
loader work, and have no complaints. In fact you can make
quite slick shifts between forward and reverse if your used
to it - its like a shuttle!! :-)
Re: 5610
Good question James! :-D This shouldn't give you the excuse
to break up the tractor though Owain like that nose cone and
missing glass in the lower section of the door
Re: 5610
Yep the gears are on the floor.
Sorry, but shuttle my arse ! Backwards and forwards up
those cubicle sheds and your soon wishing it was though.

The fact the the brakes barely work doesnt help as u have to
use the gears to slow down.
As for the cosmetic "modifications" its not my tractor
and i'm not the one who "modified" it. :-P

I can see why you might like the gearbox but give me an
International, or Case, or John deere or Massey (not 500 or
600 series) or pretty much any other make anyday.
