Afternoon Seeding
Seeding barley in the late afternoon near Eightmile Creek
just south of The Dalles,Oregon on SRS Ranches. New snow
on Mt Hood in the background. The JD 9400T eases 45' of
drill and it's air cart around the edge on the first round.
Re: Afternoon Seeding
I wish that I could head up I-5 and get on I 97 and go up
there. We have family up in the tri cities area in
washington and I always love going up through central oregon
during harvest or planting us flat landers dont get to see
much hill side farming.
Re: Afternoon Seeding

admrieyour courage and your driving skills on such land
Re: Afternoon Seeding
Very Nice pictures! John you're a very talented man! Here in
central Illinois everything is as flat as it can be, corn,
beans and cows! I certaintly would have something in my
trousers driving that combination:-[!

Re: Afternoon Seeding
Yo Deereman! Hey it's not that get use to the
hills real fast. This drill/air cart combination is a hand
full at times and my time on it is quite limited. ( somebody
has to take the pictures!) The operator in all of these
pictures is a wizard....check out this shot as he lays
out around a draw. ;-)
Re: Afternoon Seeding
I agree with John. I have 17 years and I drive even on
hills. You have to learn some rules and have much "hand" to
drive on hillside, but then is easy. Maybe I'm not able to
drive on flat field. For example ploughing is the most
difficult work (see my album). But the most difficult is
driving on slopes with whelled tractor, for example my TNF
:-) . One time happen to me that I'm working with 1180 and
with 2 rollers of 5 tons on a slopes that push you downhill
and when turning the tractor go straight. It's not a good
feel when you have an edge ahead. Generally my slopes are
less scary than john's but in some point are equal. Hi, guys
