WALKER 119814 48 making rice levees either
making rice levees
fields here are rotated one year rice one year soybeans
levees have to be torn down for beans an tractor is building
them here in picture with terrace plow before terrace plow
this use to take two or more tractors with multiple passes
now one tractor two passes unless larger levees are needed
then three maybe four passes, this pic tractor making first
pass!!

Re: making rice levees
How do you know where to put the leeves? I assume they
follow some sort of minute contour or elevation
differentiation when levelling.

Re: making rice levees
oh yeh! the guy on this one is me if you rotate field every
year it's not bad tracking old levee you can still see a
roll where the old levee was usually hold tractor on bottom
side of center of roll this way you won't leave a hill on
top side of lower cut (patty) if you run 2 years beans when
you get back to rice it's tricky that roll is hardly there
you can plow the field and old levee top will dry and turn
white before rest of field but you better be ready to pull.
these levees I'm pulling here are on 8-10 inch drops
