Special Job
My Valmet 6400 and I have done many different jobs for a new
power station in Riksheimdalen in Sykkylven. 14 days ago I
was up in the mountain, which was covered with fresh snow.

Re: Special Job
I had to take away some "forgotten" shuttering under the
pipeline for a power station. This is the entrance to the
tunnel and the mountain Synnavindsnipa in the background.

Re: Special Job
This tunnel was built in the 1930s to regulate the level of
water in a lake a bit further up in the mountain. Now this
pipeline goes 3000 meters down to a new power station about
300 meters above sea level.
I have heard a history about the man who set fire to the
last explosive charge when they built this tunnel. Since
money was thight, they could not afford a long enough fuse
so the man was blown out of the tunnel, because he could not
run fast enough to get out before it blew off.

Here is the mountain "Skopshorn" (1226 m) seen from the
tunnel entrance.

Re: Special Job
View to "Keipen" (1298 m). You can see the hut built for
the
workers on a rehabilitation in the 60s.

Re: Special Job
Aren't you scared for holes or something?
Or that you can't stop and slide the hill off?

Re: Special Job
Hi.
There is a small narrow road up along with the pipeline. But
I became snowblind so I had to walk on the road so I could
see where the road was somtimes.
I had to put cains on all weels before went up.

Re: Special Job
Looks pretty scary in places. I would want to have some long
dark colored poles along the side of the road to see the
edge.

Re: Special Job
Hi
Thanks for your comments. I agree with you Redpainter, there
should have been some black poles along the road. It's
impossible to see the road when there is no contrasts and
everything is white.

Best wishes from Njål
