What happens after a tremendous growing season?
In extreme southern Illinois the 2004 corn crop is a bin
buster. These folks are used to good yields, but this
season was tremendous. Storage got full early. Train cars
were slow to return empty.

Re: What happens after a tremendous growing sea...
This bare ground pile is sprouting. Sloppy to work around
and smells of fermentation.

Re: What happens after a tremendous growing sea...
In a normal harvest year this is the temporay storage pile.
Roughly the square footage of a U.S. football field with 8
foot high walls. Forced air fans around the concrete floor.
This is the far end showing the loading machine.

This is the truck unloading end of the regular temporary
storage pile. Notice shuttle train engine in the
background.

is suprising how much grain plywood can hold back
