Lenco Harvester
A Lenco self-propelled potato harvester in a central
Wisconsin field during the Fall of 2001. These machines
harvest 12 rows of potatoes at a time.
Re: Lenco Harvester
great picture
doyou have more of these

greets AV
Re: Lenco Harvester
12 rows??
It can't be through. So the machine takes 9m at a
time....difficult to believe!!
Do you have other pictures of it?
Re: Lenco Harvester
No, the picture is of a 4 row Lenco unit. He says 12 cause
it is picking up 12 rows, but not 12 rows wide. They
probally have two 4 row windrowers which dump into the 4
rows that the Lenco picks up. So its taking 4 Rows out of
the dirt, and 8 rows from the windrowers in a pass. 4+8=12
Potato Windrower
Dave you are correct of course, and thank you for clarifying
that for me. I didn't mean to mislead anyone, as I was just
trying to keep the description short.

Generally with these large harvesters, a total of eight
other rows are windrowed into the four primary ones that
will be harvested. Most farmers here run two 4 row
windrowers directly in front of the Lenco. I will post a
picture of the windrowers in front of the Lenco harvester.

Dave, are you familiar with these type of harvesters?
Re: Lenco Harvester
JSchomburg - the same one who posts on TTS?
As you may know, I post there too, anyways, back to the
Lenco, I am sorta familiar with these planters, I grew up on
a Potato farm, and the whole area is potato farming so I am
familiar with the equipment, but there is only 1 Lenco in
Maine that I know of, and about 2 years ago when it arrived,
the dealer had a Showing, all the area farmers went over and
watched it work. Quite a machine. But my uncles dont run
one, we run a grimme GB1500 with a Thomas 4 Row Windrower,
in about a week from now, harvest will start and I will be
taking pics of the operation, Look on TTS for the link by
then end of the month.
Re: Lenco Harvester
Ahh, yes, Dave Desjardins.
Yes, I'm the same one that posts on ToyTalk once in awhile.

I really liked the pictures that you took of potato planting
this year with the Ford 8730 and Harriston 4 row. I
defintely look forward to seeing pictures of the harvest
over there.

I'm always trying to add to my archive of (North American)
potato farming photos. I've been abled to get some really
good pictures of the potato harvest here so far, but I'm
hoping to get more in the next couple weeks.

The Lenco harvesters are awesome machines, and they are
popular here,(there are 10 that I know of) but I really like
seeing the pull-type harvesters more.
