Re: Ford 6000 Commander
another pic. Is only using a three bottom fully mounted. Was
supposed to be a rated 5 plow tractor. Ford's first big
tractor. This one is a 6 cylinder engine. It is a gas
burner. They had a diesel and propane version. Built
approximate in 1962. First ones were red and white before
the recall. Then all were blue and white when Ford
consolidated it's world operations.

Re: Ford 6000 Commander
Hi Bjarne, Might check out this web site. It shows a red
6000 Commander. It was pre recall.

I am not sure if they were availible other than the states.
As far as I know it was the only ford to look like that.
I always thought they were a nice looking tractor.
Select-o-Speeds were fun to drive. Could be a little jerky
between 5th and 6th speed. Some people jerk-o-matics or
slip-o-matics. I always like them though.

Regards,
John
