Some of these tractors ( Oliver/Cockshutt, and MF ) had the
3cylinder Supercharged Detroit ( GM ) Diesel in them. Thas

Re: Cockshutt 1900
Great looking tractor!!! See more of the 1900 Oliver version
in the states. Yes it is a two-cycle Detroit with a blower.
John Deere used a two cylinder Detriot super charged on the
435 built 1959-1960. Also used a larger one in their first
articulated 4-wheel drive 8010 and 8020 built late 1950's
and early 1960's. They are a screamer and have a sound of
all their own. They were one of the most powerful diesels of
the times for Ag and Industial applications until the turbo
came along and the Detriot with a super charger faded away.

Re: Cockshutt 1900
Hi Brian,

Might try this web site and ask if they know of any
models.http://www.ciaccess.com/~jackson1/shed/homepage.html
I have seen a 1950 model Cockshutt with out the Detriot. It
was made by Ertl and was in the 1/16th scale.

Re: Cockshutt 1900
How many tractors did he have? I would guess there was a lot
of interest in them. Are there many in Scotland? No I
haven't got any Cockshutts myself. We have a local Antique
Collecters Club and we have a family that are a very
dedicated bunch to preserving the Cockshutt. In the states
the Co-op was built by Cockshutt. It was sold thru local
farmer owned co-ops. When the Co-op quit selling them some
found how to still get Cockshutts. They are not real common
but you always see them at local shows. If you look real
close in this link you will see three Cockshutts and one
Co-op. This is a picture of our local show 2004. Feature was
Allis. http://home.fuse.net/pioneerpower/Photo%20Album.htm
