maryalice 1372 101 Flight Tests either
This is what it is all about, and believe me I couldn't hold
back the tears when I saw first Little Skipper take to the
air ... and then a couple of days later, Captain Beaky ...
Skipper has gone down to the field below us where she has
joined up with a couple of other babies and adults, we keep
a close eye on her ...but our Captain Beaky, he prefers his
fish prepared and the comforts of our pond in the field . He
will sit in the cemetary by our lane, wait for us and then
fly down with us to our field and call for his fish ! Not
spoiled ... much ! This has been what it is all about !
But, now we have had a little one brought to us, yes another
one, this one with a severely broken wing....much younger
than our two ( a late arrival )....he has been called Lord
Nelson, what else would you call a ' one armed bird from the
sea ' ! Depending on his healing, or perhaps amputation of
the broken wing ( elbow ) he may have to be moved to a
sanctuary where he can live with other orphans who require
special and lifetime care. Will keep you posted on little
Lord Nelson !
