Re: Steyr_2.jpg
The machine is a Steyr. It says so on the side of the
tractor. Although it is a CNH company of course.

Re: Steyr_2.jpg
I don't get it. So Steyr sells CaseIH MX Magnum tractors
under their own name? And what about the price? Cheaper I
guess, and so you get exactly the same tractor for less
money?

Re: Steyr_2.jpg
Frank,

I'm not sure about the price compared to the MX Magnums. But
I guess you could find more info by going to cnh.com.

Re: Steyr_2.jpg
CIH purchased Steyr in 1996. Prior to this Massey built a
higher hp tractor for Steyr. Once CIH took over the Magnum
was badge-engineered as a Steyr, and the MX Magnum just
followed.

The CIH CS series and CVT are just badge-engineered Steyr
tractors.

Re: Steyr_2.jpg
This guy, Martin, is from the Czech republic, according to
his e-mail adress. In the Alps countries, and parts of
eastern europe, they are sold as Steyr.

The Dutch importer bought about 50 old style magnums, about
a year after the come of the new MX magnum. They were
sitting at the Steyr plant in St. Valentin.
The Steyrs were re-rebadged back to Case and sold here.

Re: Steyr_2.jpg
And to make it even more interesting, here in Sweden
tractors made bye Steyr are painted and sold as IH. The
reason for that is that then IH had to sell out some plants
that became Mcormic there was a hole in their program that
our importer couldn't accept. Now IH has new models and we
have also seen Steyrs marketed as that. Should bee
interesting to see what will come out of this.
