What I never understood is that why people choose narrow
front wheels. Can you explain what the benifit is or was?

Narrow front ends ( Tricycle Type ) were used years back
,for row crops , Providing a tight turning radius ,for front
mounted cultivators , and other attachments ,like 2 row
mounted corn pickers ,that were popular before combine
harvesting of corn ..

Oh ok, I understand for front mounted equipment, and for a
tighter turning radius. But for row crops, it is still a
unclear to me, because nothing works nicer than the front
wheels running in the same track as the rear wheels:-\
