Terex TS40
This is a Terex Scraper TS40 used at Iorn brige power
station (UK) to this day. It has TWO 9.3L Detroit 8V-71N V8
Supercharged 2-Stroke 300hp (each engine). This scraper gets
used about 10 hours aday coaling up the station but this
type of Detroit engine's do not last long because of the
emount of hours they have to Do.

Re: Terex TS40
i think it's not because the amount of hours..
The coal dust makes the engine wear excessive.

When those engines make 10 hours a day, on a good working
temperature, they must do 25.000 hrs with minor repairs and
one or two overhauls and sets of fuel nozzles.

Re: Terex TS40
Yes Renze quit true but this scraper has got a bigger box it
has bin converted from a TS24 To a TS40 and it puts a lot of
stress on the engine if it was a TS24 i think it would Be
ok. Plus it doze get verey dusty at times and the Engines do
get recked the engines have Warrant so they get fixed when
bracks down for now. Most often it drops a Valve i dont no
why but it always happens. I think the Engine lasts About
10.000 hrs untill it brakes down even less. PLUS THIS TYPE
OF TEREX HAS NOT GOT AN ELEVATOR SO ITS ALL UP THE ENGINE
POWER.
