Re: mf 187
Nice Pic. This combine is the basic design from MF Germany
from which the Brazilian MF combines like the 5650
originated .
Re: mf 187
i like old combines but there are not many still working in
belgium, are there many old combines in the US?

sorry for my bad english

Re: mf 187
Jonas, Your English seems good. There are not alot of old
combines working in the US. We do have two 1976 IH 453's
Hillside and a 77 model. Some pics of last harvest are on
this site's Case section. My dad has an old 65 403 he still
runs in peas. We use these because we are small farmers and
had to rent out some land due to health problems. Most old
combines are run by part time farmers. Some keep them as a
hobby like old antique tractors. I bought the third 453
because I needed it for parts. We can still get parts, but
it's becoming difficult. There are a few others still
running them. Combines are run longer here because we have
levellers that make them more expensive. The early 80's
1470 IH hillside combines are now being retired. These
combines would probably be retired by now in the flatlands.
Many smaller and medium sized farms went out after the 80's
so combines aren't kept as long as they were years ago. I
have an interest in Belgium as one of our late priests was
from Belgium and is now buried here and has a special
dedication picture hanging in the church. I used to hear as
a kid a little about farming in Belgium many years ago.
Really have a special interest in MF Euro combines history.
Re: mf 187
Hi Redpainter!:-)

I'm also interested in older MF combines, both the european
and canadian made. I'm especially interested in these
smaller basic structure models with the engine on top of the
straw walkers. I'm quite familiar with them too, but there
is this one model I cant seem to get info on: the 507.
Perhaps you would have some information concerning the
507:-[ What I've gathered is thet it's the biggest combine
of the smaller basic structure?? and that it has a six
cylinder engine, Perkins A6.354.
