Mf 507
A very rare model I think, hope someone could give me some
info on this combine:-)
Re: Mf 507
Another view. Not my combine.
Re: Mf 507
A view from the back, shows the straw walker chamber:-)
Re: Mf 507
Agricult, I have a "Massey Legacy Vol. II" book by John
Farnworth. It lists it as coming from France from 72-76.
Probably a later version of the 487 and descended from the
186 and 187 designed in Germany in 69 or 70. If I remember
from an article I read, the 487 had about a 42 inch (over
1m.) wide cylinder (drum) and a 5 walker body. (about 50
inches/125 cm wide). I assume the 307 and 507 were later
versions of the 187 and 487. Possibly the combines of this
design with number ending in 7 had wider walker bodies than
the cylinder and those ending with the 6 had the same width
of walker body as the cylinder. Making the walker body wider
than the cylinder was used by Massey since the super 92 in
North America in 1960.
Re: Mf 507
Hi Redpainter

That system that you mentioned, that the models ending in 7
have wider straw walker than cylinder, it makes perfect
sense!:-) It all adds up now! It seems that I accidently
posted the same photo twice:-[ I'll post the third one after
this. I almost forgot that I have found the specs for the
507 on the internet:

As you can see there was also a model 506 (that was sold in
Finland), but it has shorter and perhaps -as you said-
narrower straw walkwers. It's also the only smaller
MF combine with a 6-cylinder engine, the classic A6.354. The
grain tank is also slightly bigger than on the smaller
models. That side btw has very good technical specs on many
tractors and combines sold in Finland, and the specs are
also in english:-D

Re: Mf 507
OK, maybe I got the right pic this time;-) From this picture
you can clearly see the "add on" piece between the graintank
and engine compartment, it's propably there to house the
bigger engine and longer straw walkers. That piece does not
occur in the smaller models. You can also see the enlarged
grain tank that takes in 3100 litres of PURE grain, no other
that aged combine harvests as clean as the original MFs:-D

Re: Mf 507
agricult, the diagram with the different models was
intersting. Good pictures too. Thanks for posting them.
Re: Mf 507
Thanks Redpainter! You're a farmer right? Do you mind me
asking where in the US you farm?:-) About this picture, the
controls are exactly the same as in the smaller models I've
Re: Mf 507
Very interesting combine "agricult" !! i am always
looking for pictures of rare machinery. Will definitely save
it to my Combine file.
Re: Mf 507
Suomestakin löytyy ainakin yksi 507, sijaintipaikka Tuuri.
Koneliike Mähösen viereiseltä tilalta. Siellä se tönötti
pihalla ainakin vielä reilu vuosi sitten.
Re: Mf 507

Todella mielenkiintoista tietoa, silla luulin etta naita ei
ole virallisesti tuotu Suomeen, liekohan tuotakaan?
Erityisesti tämän mallisarjan MF puimurit ovat todella
mielenkiintoisia ja puimureinakin verrattomia;-)

terveisin agricult
