Re: International TD?? crawler
It's a TD 24. It was bigger than a D8 of the time I think.
Later Cat came out with the D9. Construction outfits were
set up to work on Cats. Few wanted to go to IH or AC from
Cat. Can't comment on durability.

Redpainter, thank you very much. I think this picture is
taken in Italy. Do you maybe know how much HP??

Re: International TD?? crawler
Edwin, the TD 24 was tested 3x. This first TD24 in 1950
tested at 138 maximum drawbar pull in first gear (on
pavement-Nebraska) pulling 33714 pounds. The 1954 and 57
tractors with the more squared construction look with pigeon
holed grills tested at 154 and 163 drawbar HP. Drawbar Hp
would probably be about 86% of power take off/belt
horsepower which most American tractors are rated at except
articulate tractors. The type of horsepower measurement in
Europe would be probably more since I think tractors there
are rated by engine horse power without the tractor.
This picture is probably taken in the Rocky Mountains or the
Sierra's of California. If you are on the leeward side of
the mountains away from the prevailing winds, the mountain
areas of the West can be very dry and have steppe type
grassland with the trees due to lack of rain as seen in the
picture. On the rainy side of the mountains, it can be a
rainforest as in the Cascades of Washington and Oregon. Also
at this time, because of the Autobahn's seen in Germany by
President Eisenhower, the USA was in a major building
project of building interstate highways across the country.
This project lasted through the 50's and into the 60's out
West.

In addition to the info above, the TD 24 came out in 1947
(biggest tractor then). 6 cylinder 1060.6 cubic in engine
with 5 3/4 inch bore and 7 inch stroke. 1947-5 units built,
1948-311 units, 1949-349 units,1950-857units built, 1951-
1061 units, 1952-925 units.

Re: International TD?? crawler
Big machine, with 154/ 163HP it must be competitive with the
AC HD19 or HD20 i think.

Redpainter, thank you very much. In Europa you can find the
smaller IH crawlers more, like the TD6.

Re: International TD?? crawler
Hier een TD20, afgelopen zomer op de foto gezet toen ik met
mn vader bij die AC HD21 was wezen kijken. Deze stond er
schuin achter bij dezelfde handelaar. Maar dat ding heeft zo
gruwelijk geleden, daar is echt onnoemelijk mee afgebeuld.
