MF 9690 combine in South Africa
Massey Ferguson 9690 combine in South Africa. This combine
is looking like a Gleaner to me. It is the first one in
South Africa.
Sorry about the previous post. Don't know what happened!!

Re: MF 9690 combine in South Africa
Hi!

No sweat about the double posting, it happens:-)Yeah.. I'm
not a big expert on these combines, but don't Gleaner and MF
(as you said) share parts? I know they have completely
different kind of cylider systems, but so do New Holland CR
and CaseIH AFX 8010 and they are still common platform,
right?

Greets from agricult:-)

Re: MF 9690 combine in South Africa
Well the 9000 series Masseys use alot less belts and chains.
Use more hydraulic motors which is turing out to be a wise
decision. They share alot of parts but like you said use
different sperating methods. Both are excellent methods but
I like the Gleaner a little better. The Massey is gaining
more ground every year.

Take care,

Nathan

Re: MF 9690 combine in South Africa
Have Massey dealers been selling Claas there? Are Gleaners
sold there? The Massey does have axles and some other parts
in common including cab. Next round of machines will have
more in common I think.

Re: MF 9690 combine in South Africa
Hi C.W Lombard!

The MF axials are produced in the old Hesston plant Kansas
US. The other MF combines are either made in Randers
Denmark, Laverda factory Italy or In Santa Rosa Brazil.

Re: MF 9690 combine in South Africa
Yes, the Massey dealers were selling Claas the last few
years, but now they will sell first the MF 5650 and they
say later the MF 9690. They are busy testing the 9690 and
will sell it later.
Gleaner combines were never sold in South Africa. Only one
was tested many years ago.
