Grandpa and his TD 14
Grandpa is cleaning the mud off of the tracks of his baby-a
1940's TD14 which he bought in the early 60's in Walla Walla
WA. Once a dryland wheat tractor, he had to cut down the air
cleaner to get into the 12 ft high shed. Ya needed to have
the intake high to get the cleanest air. Later a dry type
air cleaner was added. Used to pull a tandem plow hitch of a
5 and 4 bottom 16" plows. 3rd gear was a little slower, but
the weight made it good for the heavy fertilizer
applicators. Also used on a 51 pull type combine with self
propelled. It could idle around the hills pulling the
combine. Going to have the head worked on and will be used
as a working tractor after that. Hopefully, the mechanic has
found a parts source in California again. Some new parts
came off the shelf that had been unused since the 1940s.
(pobably parts were left over from the War in the Pacific.)
This will be the last time it gets some work.
