MT 865 with Dual Exhaust
Here is a picture of our MT 865 with the factory muffler and
a 5 inch:-D stack right in front of it. We had to put dual
exhaust on it it to bring our EGTs down which were hitting
1,080 degrees fahrenheit post turbo!
Re: MT 865 with Dual Exhaust
Why are your EGTs running so high? Do they run that high
even when the tractor isn't loaded?
Re: MT 865 with Dual Exhaust
We have it chipped so it's putting out 650-700 hp and yes it
only puts out these kind of temps. when it's under load and
turned up on the highest setting on the computer box. But
the dual exhaust brought the temps. down to about 1,000
degrees or so.
Re: MT 865 with Dual Exhaust
Hey there Jon Boy, what in the heck do ya pull that ya need
that much horse? I am sure there is somethin out there for
that big a horse! We run two Mt's and we love them. Tried
to get Cat man to turn up the 845 but no luck. We lease our
machines every three years so we really can't mess with them
much. So how did ya get them to turn up the ecm? The drive
train in the Mt series was built for 600 horse so it should
handle it! Can't wait for the new Mt's from the factory with
600 horse, it will move our tilliage equipment right along!
One more, where ya from?
Re: MT 865 with Dual Exhaust
For fall tillage we have a 9 shank Blue Jet ripper that we
pull 20 inches deep, a 7 shank Brent CPC and a 21 knife
Nitromaster anhydrous bar that has a Morris air cart hooked
on it so we can put anhydrous and dry fertilizer on at the
same time. For Spring tillage we just got a 62' John Deere
985 field Cultivator and sometimes we pull our 24/48 row
Flexi Coil planter with our cat. We just got another MT 865
so we're gonna put it on another 7 shank Brent CPC ripper we
have and my dad took a 55' John Deere 985 field cultivator
and added another bar to it so we could have more shanks on
it to filter the trash better. I think he said it's got a
shank every 4 inches. We also have an anhydrous bar for
that machine too but it's a little smaller. I'm from Iowa
and the name of the computer Box is Pittsburgh Power, you
can find information about it at It
cost $2,395 and an addition $300 for the labor of a local
diesel shop to install it. They have to put a pyrometer on
our tractor but the computer box doesn't mess with the ECM
box on the tractor so you can take it off anytime and no one
will even no you turned it up.
Re: MT 865 with Dual Exhaust
I'm sorry it's They also have an
optional turbo but my dad didn't want spend the extra $2,295
so we put dual exhaust on instead and we only run the
tractor on power level 5 out of the 7 settings.
