Re: IH 5288 in the Netherlands

Re: IH 5288 in the Netherlands
De New

Re: IH 5288 in the Netherlands
I have just restored an IH 5288. I am compiling a register of all the ones that were sold in the UK in the 1980s. I am looking to track down the serial numbers, (last four numbers starting with 4, 5, or a 6) of ones exported to Europe and also the 3 figure number in the cab below the gear levers, it starts with a 5, mine is 556 and maybe the UK licence plate numbers if known. The UK tractors have mudguard (fender) extentions.
Thanks,
Paul

Hello axial1680, can you post some photos of your IH 5288? This one on my photo was secondhand imported from the UK. I don't have a serial number, the owner in Holland sold it back and has bought a Case IH Magnum.

Re: IH 5288 in the Netherlands
Hello Edwin, I'm having trouble up loading them, I think they are too big, can you use photo bucket on this site? Haven't worked out how yet. When you say sold it back was that to a Dutch dealer?
Thanks

You can upload your photos to photobucket and then post the link here in this thread ;)

This IH 5288 was traded in at J. van Kesteren for a Case IH Magnum. Van Kesteren is a trader in International and Fendt tractors.

Re: IH 5288 in the Netherlands
Yes Edwin, it was a cosmetic wreck when I got it, had to get a full roof and mudguards from the US and alot of welding round the window frames, repairing doors etc, took about 450 hours.
