Thorn bush
Sitting on steep Northside hill in Idaho Palouse. Thorn
trees were common in some moist areas here in Indian and
Pioneer days. This thorn bush is getting a good start on the
steep north side.

Re: Thorn bush
I don't know about Idaho, but here in the Missouri Ozarks
most every crop does better on a N slope including timber as
the south sloopes get to much sun and dry out to fast

Re: Thorn bush
Roy, that's true here too. In some areas where there are
natural stands of Ponderosa Pine, they're on the north side.
Here the north sides are steeper because the loess blown
soil came from the south west.
