Re: 1174
Hello there!!!.......yes, on the subject of 1174s, here's
the pride of Surf City [Salcombe] putting a Welger thru its
paces last year.....good job summer is on its way and time
to get some more photos - sorry, I haven't got any more new
pics to put up. Anyway with diesel at 33p per litre now
we're gonna have to drive it with slippers in 2005.

The new workshop is almost finished so there'll be no excuse
now for South Hams Implements and Tractors not to get the
paint work sorted out on the 1004....after all this time.

What else is new in the U.K. [and European] County world?

cheers all

Re: 1174
Tough one, that. Anyone got a complete listing?

As a rule of thumb you can pretty much say that the first
part of the model number is a good guesstimate for the
horse-power [this doesn't allow for additional pump tuning
by JimSpeed and other serious County users] so reckon on a
1174 having tops 117 hp - Its actually 112 BS HP....but I
hope you get my drift. I should say that a 7700-four doesn't
have 770 hp.... there's always an exception to every rule.

cheers

Re: 1174
Engine power of the County´s 7700 four and 6600 four or 4600
four.
If you take the first two figures as Kilo Watt you have also
the engine power.

Re: 1174
Hello there Mike,

How's it going in your neck of the woods?

From what I hear on the "grapes" the boys are putting on an
event on August Bank Holiday [27th > 29th] down at Cheriton
Bishop, which is only a stone's throw further on - and
closer to Cornwall [sorry Roland ;-)] - from Tedburn Santa
Maria. Basically come down the A30 after Exeter and fork-off
left at the Woodleigh Junction sign post which takes you in
to the village of Cherry Bish. Then just look for the clouds
of smoke.

I'm still away doing missionary work but hope to get back
home in late May for a few weeks R&R and to catch up on the
news, but no doubt some of our other readers who are more
'in-the-know' than me and could confirm the above.

O.K. here's one I found in the archive - the question is who

No steak knives for prizes, though.

Re: 1174
You're right Roger, technically we should be calling it the
Ford Conversions Event.....anything taking place Canada this
year?

Here's one I always fancied getting hold of....thanks to
whoever sent me the pic :-)

By the way Roger, are you featured in the Roadless video and
book?

Re: 1174
so the county 1884 has 188 hp? Is this the ford 8830/TW35?

Sjoerd,

Your assumption is correct.

Re: 1174
There was never any 1884s built on Ford 8830s. The twin
propshaft layout of a County would not be possible on an
8830 because of the extra valves etc that stick out of the
side of the powershift gearbox.
