Re: Eucalyptus
Hi Ricardo,

Do you grow many hectares Eucalyptus in your region?
what do you harvest? the whole plant or just the leaves, and
for what is the product used?

Re: Eucalyptus

Sorry, but I didn't understand very well your first question
(grow). If you mean are there,in my region, many hectares of
eucalyptus forests, the answer is yes, there are.

The most part of the product of the harvest is wood to make
cellulose. There are in my region 3 big cellulose industries
(Aracruz Celulose S.A., BahiaSul Celulose S.A. and Veracel
Celulose S.A.) that buy all the production of the farmers.
The last one, Veracel is an association between the Aracruz
Cellulose (50%) and the Swedish-Finnish Stora Enso (50%)
that produces white cellulose of eucalyptus, and it is one
of the biggests of the world, with annual capacity of 900 a
thousand tons of cellulose. The Veracel has 70 a thousand
hectares of own plantatio of eucalyptus.

There is no exploitation of the leaves.

Greetings :-)
