like this
Re: John deere 8630
jd fan,

these were made sometime in the late 1970's i think. not
sure the exact year but the 8630 is rated at 225 horsepower.
oh yea, let's chill out w/the arguing, i'm tired of it. we
have been acting like little kids.

Re: John deere 8630
Hey guys. The 8630 was made between 1976 and 1978 or ’79. We
traded our 4630 in on one in about ’77 and was a great
tractor. It had awesome power, tremendous hydraulic capacity
and was very maneuverable. You could literally throw it
around with one finger on the wheel. This one is some sort
of repowered unit. 8630’s came originally with the airstack
and exhaust mounted in the hood. This one has both relocated
to the cab corner which as you know now is the standard
practice. What I can see of the left side of the engine
tells me this is not the original (6)619 engine. Also, the
square box mounted under the nose is not stock. If I had to
guess, I’d say this one is a Cummins repower.
Re: John deere 8630
Hey John,

I did not even pay attention to the stack. Yeah it does look
like a Cummins re-power. It is a nice looking machine.
Oh, I really like your 6030.:-D Do you have any more pics of

Re: John deere 8630
This is a Kinze Repower. You can see the yellow kinze
sticker on the front side panel. Most of the repowers use
an 855 Cummins. The tires do look oversized, not sure if
they would be 42's or maybe even 46's.
Re: John deere 8630
The tires look like 46's.
Re: John deere 8630
I’ll try to get some 6030 pictures this weekend Lance. I
went out last weekend to shoot some pictures and there
wasn’t a single tractor at the shop and I had to just give
up and go fishing. LOL! Maybe I’ll be able to find them
this weekend. Thanks for the info on the 8630 Doug. I
figured this one had a Cummins. For what it’s worth, I like
these tractors on 18.4 x 38’s.
Re: John deere 8630
XThanks John I would appreciate it. Anyway I think that this
8630 would have a neat look w/18.4 x 38's, but I like the
46's myself!:-D
