Re: PZ Zweegers Falazet 275T ANYONE KNOW ANY INFO?
Yes and in your backyard, isn´t it, Anne?

PZ first merged with Vicon in the Greenland coporation and
then was Greenland bought by Kverneland.

The Deutz-Fahr machines are nowadays also build by
Greenland. In Europe the machines are known by the names
Vicon, Kverneland, Deutz-Fahr...

Badge enginering if I have the saying correct.

I think it´s a drum mower, working capacity 275 cm.

That farmer has a nice collection under his hedge. If the
Lely mower is at the same meadow.

I thought the old iron prices were also high in the UK.

pz is abbreviations of piet zweegers, this machine became
made in geldrop in the Netherlands. the factory does not
exist anymore whit this name. According to me has merged
with Vicon.
Piet's son is importer in the Netherlands for fendt (the
vor) and
MF. (mechatrac) he is owner of these companies.

Re: PZ Zweegers Falazet 275T ANYONE KNOW ANY INFO?
Since the Kverneland group has taken over greenland, their
has been moved a lot to germany. for instance, the rakes are
made in Godmädingen (Germany).

We have ourselves also a drum mower of PZ, a PZ 165.

Re: PZ Zweegers Falazet 275T ANYONE KNOW ANY INFO?
PZ equipment is well respected here in NZ ( all comments
correct re. now greenland KV etc )their drum mowers are very
easy to drive and very quiet in operation. PZ haybob was a
mainstay for NZ farmers for a long time & are still very
popular although now being eclipsed by larger machines. The
Falazet was (correct me if I'm mistaken)a combination
drum/disc mower ie drum at each end & discs in the middle.
Can't comment much on this particular type of machine as
their were not a lot around.

Re: PZ Zweegers Falazet 275T ANYONE KNOW ANY INFO?
Do you know how they invented the discmower?
Well I do... once I had the opportunity to visit the R&D of
PZ in Geldrop. At that moment this department was actually
an after sales service. The guy who was in charge told me the
story about the discmower invention. PZ tried to build a
tedder in the early sixties (or late 50's, i am not sure),
using two truck tire rims vertically positioned. But I did
not work. At all. The rims were running in oposite
direction, but did not pick the material nor spreaded it.
They welded some flat bars at the bottom, but nothing
worked. Obvious they were experimenting for many weeks, so
the grass started to grow again on the previous field. At a
certain moment they got so fed up with it, that they ordered
the test-driver to turn around and head back to the shop
where they decided to throw the experiment in the scrap
container. The driver however, forgot to raise the 3-point
hitch (they made a 3-point hitch version first) and turned
around, leaving the machine down. At the headland of the
field he realised what he forgot when he looked back and saw
a perfectly cut swath....
True story.....

Re: PZ Zweegers Falazet 275T ANYONE KNOW ANY INFO?
Ben al weer klaar met werken voor vandaag, dus maar ff een
vertaling gemaakt. Weet iedereen ff waar het over ging.
Leuke topic, eindelijk eens zinnige info... Moesten we meer
doen.
Waar gebeurt verhaal.
Zo is idd de Trommelmaaier geboren.

Groetjes Willem :-D
