Random Though...
It would be a major project but turning a JCB 3CX in to a
tractor would be one of the biggest projects.
Taking off the front loader and back hoe and fitting a 3
point linkage and maybe a few adjustments to the gearing.
But the result would be fairly promising.Front visabilty
would be great. Probably a useless thought but worth a

This type of 3CX.
Re: Random Though...
Im no expert on paint as you can tell but this would be a
prototype, what do you guys think? Could it be done?
Re: Random Though...
Anybody?? :-(
Re: Random Though...
Not too sure bout your idea myself. The torque converter
gearbox would be the biggest problem I think. Their excelent
for loaders as they offer fantastic tracion and very little
wheelspin and also their very easy to use (rev and go). But
. . . have you ever seen one trying to drive up a steep hill
? The torque converter slows the whole thing down (to
convert torque into traction) when really there is no need
which makes the going rather tedious! I would limit its
haulage ability as well as performance in the field where it
would be continuously revving (not very efficient). Also I
think their rather heavy for their power.
To sum up 3cx' are fantastic diggers and loaders and if
you want a tractor you should buy a fastrac :-D

Have fun,
