8010 at Delou's
Case IH AFX 8010 opening up the SRS Ranches home place on
lower Eightmile Creek just east of The Dalles. To get into
the field, the combines have to come in at the top of the
ridge; here the 8010 cuts out a haul road out to the front
gate where we will start cutting.

Re: 8010 at Delou's
Getting cranked up. Not much level ground out at the front
gate; makes loading the trucks a fun project. :-D

Re: 8010 at Delou's
Moved up the ridge away from the front gate; loading on to
a truck on the top of the main ridge.

Re: 8010 at Delou's
Switched over to the north side of the ridge, the 8010
working later in the day. ;-)

Beached back out front for servicing. Used to think the
1670 was abig combine; now it's the Tonka Toy. ;-)

Great pictures and lovely scenery.
How many acres was that particular ranch?

Hi John

like always you provide us with some of the best pictures on
this page. The new machine looks awesome, does work like
that? How does the levelling system work? Is it as good as
the one seen on the 1670?

Greetings Martin

L Larson: 400 acres and change at Delou's....will cut
just shy of 6000 in total. :-D

Re: 8010 at Delou's
Martin: New machine working great;truck drivers are starting
to snivel about all the wheat it pumps out. The
leveler works great....doesn't level as far as the 70 series
( 48% on the 1670) goes to 27% and does not tilt the
tires as in the old machine. The cleaning shoe self levels
about 12%, so that critical part of the machine stays level
on some pretty steep stuff. Attached is a detail shot of
the Hillco leveler. ;-)

Re: 8010 at Delou's
Howdy John Mc Manigal :-)

Another Question: Is it possible to bolt the Rahco 44%
conversion kit on CaseIH combines, or to other non-Deere
combines for that matter? :-\ Their website doesn't really
give an answer to this question: It only says that their
conversion kit is the only JD approved on the market. The
44% kit seems to tilt the wheels like your older 1670
combine:-D Together with say the sieve levelling on the AFX
that would make about ~ 56% ;-)
