A good tractor
This is a 1974 model Ford 4000 and has been on our farm
since new. The clock stopped long ago, but from service
records I estimate it to have clocked more than 25000 hours.
And a hard life it's been. It was the main workhorse for
most of it's life and outlived both John Deere's (2130 &
8640) bought to replace it. The picture was taken while
fitting new rear tires. During it's life so far the only
mechanical work required was replacing the clutch twice, a
broken front stub-axel, a new brake plate set, the steering
box was overhauled as well as the injectors and fuelpump.
