Sad story, our 1982 JD 8640 ended up in a river during a
a couple of years ago. The engine was removed recently to be
rebuilt. If that is sucessfull, we will restore the rest of

Where did you used the tractor for? Because I see no hitch
and that tieres look strange to me.

Jac, it started its life on a open iron mine, pulling
compressors etc. in and out of the mine. That is the reason
for the tires and hitch. It is also fitted with a grader
blade (not visible on the photo). We bought two JD 8640's
some years ago when the mine scaled down their operations.
