topic, after seeing that allis above, we have recently got a
john deere of about the same size with a front loder on it [
thats why we got it] now, this is a model 301a according to
it, and it has 2 pto shafts, 1 in the usual location and 1
under the transmissions faceing foward i have not seen
another like it around or on this site. what can you tell me
about it? i know its small but you should have seen the 35
year old dead ford it replaced.

Re: AC 170
Hello Eric,

I think the second PTO shaft is for equipment mounted
underneath the tractor, such as a mower or something like
that. I am pretty sure that is what it's for.

Re: AC 170
Well I think maybe it is an industrial tractor, if it's
yellow. If it's green, then that is odd!:-D

Re: AC 170
HI LANCE I THINK YOUR RIGHT, ACTUALY THIS ONE IS ORANGE! MY
POCKETKNIFE JUST TOLD ME IT ALWAYS HAS BEEN EXCEPT FOR THE
WHEELS WHICH ARE ORANGE BUT USED TO BE GOOD OLD J.D. YELLOW
THIS WAS GOTTEN FROM AN INDIVIDUAL BUT I WONDER NOW IF IT
HAD A STINT AS A HIWAY DEPT MOW RIG SURE WOULD EXPLAIN A
LOT.
