Hay equipment field day
Nearly 100 farmers turned out last week for an evening
meeting to view how various hay making equipment combares.
We were in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Mountains in
Berks County, Pa.

This JD 4455 and twin NH 216 rakes is used for heavy legumes
to double the windrows.

The old International 826 still does duty sometimes pulling
the big, double Kuhn rake through the grass.

We also saw this JD 7410 with a front end bale accumulator
pull this JD 946 mower with flail conditioners.

This is a new tool to me. The JD mower is backed up onto
this transporter then swiveled sideways so it can be drawn
down country roads.

We didn't see this bale transporter working, but it sure can
get the work done.
