corn in spain 2-11-2002
Corn looks good. What's the yield?
Ours here in Illinois is running as high as 220 dry. Very
good crop this year. Photo I took yesterday from combine.
the production is of 14000 kilograms ha . sorry in system
220 BUSHELS x 56 POUNDS = 12320 POUNDS = 5588 KILOGRAMS
14000 KILOGRAMS = 30864 POUNDS OR 551 BUSHELS PER ACRE
I LIKE YOUR YIELD MUSH BETTER THAN MINE. OR DID I MAKE A
14000 kilograms by hectarea.
1 hectarea = 2,4 acre
is 229 BUSHELS acre :-D
Thanks for the correction .
This years corn crop is the best that I have seen.
Been nice visiting with you today.
Have a great day.
How do the corn and soybean yields in your area look this
year? Here is SE North Carolina, corn was pitiful because of
the drought. The beans are about a week or so away from
harvest, but they don't look too good either. Cotton is
worse. We have a lot of guys discing up their cotton instead
of even bothering to pick what is out there. Oh well thank
goodness for crop insurance. Have a nice day, and nice
photos by the way.;-)
I thought beans come off early in the south? Does your corn
come off earlier then your beans?
Yeah the corn comes off Starting in late August on through
September. Soybeans are about to come off, as I said we will
probably start sometime next week. Do beans come come off in
your area before corn?
Hello Lance, thanks for answering. Yes beans come off before
corn. I'd say 90% of the time farmers in ontario will start
beans before corn. I can remember my dad telling me that one
year he did half of the corn then parked the corn head and
started beans. All depends on the year. This year alot of
corn was coming off before beans. Some corn was planted
months apart but beans were planted weeks apart. Weird year.
We finished the beans about the 20th October. We are doing
corn now with about 1500 acres to go. In our area, North
West Illinois the rains came at just the right times making
for a good crop. We started cutting beans 26th sept.
I guess you guys got lucky then! LOL I wish some of that
rain would have made it here! How many acres do you guys
farm? We have about 2,500 acres ourselves. Take care.
Your crop is very nice.
I’m a Agricultural Engeneering and work at No-till Farmers
Cooperative – COOPLANTIO in Brazil.
I would like information from your crop to study and use in
seminars, its possible?
2-What corn hybrid?
3-Soil fertility? Quimic analisys of soil.
5-seeds/ha (or acre)
Have a nice day,
