A really neat, well kept veteran; a Cat D6C ag tractor.
This unit belongs to McKinney Ranch, Wasco, Oregon. A former
dozer, this D6 was converted to direct drive for it's new
life doing drawbar work. Here it is hooked up to
sixty feet of Calkins Trashmaster rod weeders. :-D
Re: D6C
A little better look at the rodweeder hitched up to the
D6C. :-D
Re: D6C
Head shot!
Re: D6C
A view inside....set up really nice with all the comforts
of home. ;-)
Re: D6C
A close up of the dash....the two steering clutch levers
surrounded by gauges. :-D
Re: D6C
Hey, John, what are the guys in your country going to
replace the rodweeder with when they wear out. I don't think
anyone builds them anymore. Is there alot of chemical fallow
coming in? I see a dealer in WA has advertised blade (noble
blade) plows now like they used in Kansas for fallow when I
was there years ago.
Re: D6C
Hey Redpainter! I dunno....thought Coombs (ie Calkins)
was still cranking out some rods. Haven't paid much
attention as my old rods will make it till I hang it up, and
all the rods at SRS have been traded off ( gone all
no till) Got any more 403/453 shots?? Love to see the good
stuff in action. :-D
