Old dumper's last days
It was the 2005 corn silage harvest, we harvested about 90
acres of corn with a JD 5830. As one of the 2 dumwagons came
up to the bunk to unload one of the 2 beams supporting the
main I beam came loose alowing the I beam to bendsideways
and to the ground. As described by an eyewitness (my mom)
"the tractor was comming at me and the wagon was running up
beside it". We managed to lift the wagon high enough of the
ground to pull it in front of the bunk and as we dumped it
the weight was to heavy on the back that the I beam bent the
other way. which we were able to drive home with. :-)

Re: Old dumper's last days
ey roy hofhuis. where in canada are these pic`s taken?
and like nismo says, it`s not very save to dump a load with
the broken beam, because if it breakes all the way through,
the dumpwagon will drive into your cabine, and then you know
what will happen.

I see now to that the dumper could have shot into the
tractor but at the time it looked safe. These pictures are
from my farm near osgoode, ontario. And I think I know a
Rozendaal, Do you know anyone that sells plastic for bunk
silo's, his name is Rozendaal.:-)

Re: Old dumper's last days
We ended up fixing the dumper with 2 new U beams in the
shape of a v. It was cheaper than buying a new dumper.
Although we will have to soon a this is not the first time
it has broken. About 3 or 4 times now a wheel has roled of
wile driving along the road, and last year I was driving a
full load at about the same spot and the axel broke in half.
But we always managed to fix it and hopefully it'll hold
another season. :-P
