9220 lost traction... :-[
ya, the little grain cart on my right, was stuck so i was
driving by him because on the left, there was water, so i
figured this was a better option, haha i guess 55 thousand
pounds of corn doesnt exactly float over grass water runs...

They were first arguing about 'if you drive a Case STX you
would not be stuck' and later about the tire make: use
Michelin - Vredestein - Pirelli instead of the one's on the
9220.... in other word child's talk

by the way you have a nice operation going there !
I wish we could see more pics like that more!

Greetings

Re: 9220 lost traction... :-[
by the way, it wasnt so much the tires fault, more so mine,
i wasnt paying attention when the cart started to sink, and
when i realized i was bogging down, i couldnt down shift
fast enough to keep pulling through, even with my diff
locked. just lost power ... hehehe :-[

GTech
why is talking about trying different tires child's talk?
Tires are a very important factor on tractors these days.
first of all, a lot of tractors are still delivered at the
customers on bias-ply tires, which are garbage.
With radials you have a wider footprint, which means more
traction as well as flotation which results on the tractor
staying on top longer.
Michelin is THE tire for us at home, i think they are the
best tire out there, mainly because of the flexiblilty of
them and beng able to drive on low pressure to keep the
compaction down and avoid getting stuck

Huib, I didn't meant that talking about different tires is
childtalk, but those guys were starting a tire-war instead
of a color war.
The type of tires is very important on a tractor, you should
choose the right tire with the work the tractor has to do
(for example: ploughing needs other tires than just pulling
a mixer day in day out). it is not so, like the other guys
were saying that you don't get stuck when you're equipped
with Pirelli's instead of Michelins or Firestone or
whatever..
I think most farmers don't pay anough attention of the type
of tires on their tractor, they first choose other options
like some electronics he'll never uses and than at the end,
they come to the tires and than he realizes that his money
is up so he pics standard tires...

Keep the pics coming!

Re: 9220 lost traction... :-[
GTech,
I agree, a lot of farmers dont pay enough attention to
tires, i see that everyday here in Ontario, Canada...most
farmers around here dont have a clue about tires and are
always amazed when we tell them how important tires and tire
pressures are for us at home.
and as far as the pics go.....i'm working on getting the
next set together!

Ferdinand....no problem! :-D
