Re: Nice 8950
One of the most nicest tractors ever made!! I like to see

this tractor.

Re: Nice 8950
This is a AC 8000 series tractor. They were a good looking
tractor but they had a short wheelbase that made them a very
rough ride. The engines were hard on fuel as well.

Re: Nice 8950
It is a 1998 model, it has a rating of 225 hp. Only problem
is...overpowered for the number of tires

Re: Nice 8950
This CaseIH 8950.... is it a new or old model...

Here in Denmark, where I come from, I have only seen the
7100-serie Magnum, the 7200-series and the 7200
Pro-series..... Where does the 8900-series belong?? Between
the 7200 Pro-series and the newer MX's?? Can someone please
tell me a little about these 8900, as they don't run in
Denmark, as far as I konw....

Re: Nice 8950
Hello Simon,

You are correct. The 8900 series is between the 7200's and
the MX's. Horsepower is as follows:

8910- 135hp
8920- 155hp
8930- 180hp
8940- 205hp
8950- 225hp
These are PTO horsepower figures. These are nice machines
and are very reliable. We have an 8940 and love it.
Wonderful machine. Hope this info helps.:-)

Re: Nice 8950
Hello Lance

Thanks for the answer..!!

I hadn't seen them before until I saw some pictures here on
Farmphoto.

Do you know how many was build?? Not the exact amount of
course, but I would say that there weren't build that many
of them, when we haven't got them here in Denmark.... Did
they drop them quickly after they had been launched to
concentrate on the MX instead??
What did CaseIH change from the 7200's to the 8900's...??

Again thanks for the answer :-)

Calvin,

what do u mean overpowered for the number of tires?? that
doesnt make much sence to me

Re: Nice 8950
It is overpowered for its weight and traction. That is all i
meant. It slips before the machine is loaded. Im sure it
needs to be re weighted or dualed on the front but most of
its work doenst require that much traction. Excuse me for
not explaining :-D

Re: Nice 8950
No i was just asking coz we had mx 270 on wider wheel and
had plenty of traction and power put to the ground. Maybe
different over in the usa but we only used duals for
drilling to reduce soil compaction.

Re: Nice 8950
What size tires and what type are they on your 270?

Re: Nice 8950
I beleive they were 650/65/42's or 20.8 by 42
we pulled a 10 furrow plough through heavy british clay soil
with it no problems

Re: Nice 8950
Hi Simon,

I don't know exactly how many were produced, but I think
they were in production only two or three years. Try this
link right here,http://toytractorshow.com/magnum.htm. It
should have a little more info on these tractors.
