Clearing snow in Denmark
This Massey 6280 is clearing snow near Tastrup in Denmark.
The picture was taken in February 2005 when i was living in
Copenhagen. It was nice to see some snow but i dont think
its common to have much in Denmark.

Re: Clearing snow in Denmark
Another one. I was amazed by all the tractors about
Copenahgen clearing the snow. They usually worked in teams
of 2 or 3. I had great fun watching them. Didnt get many
pictures though.

Re: Clearing snow in Denmark
Hi Owain.
Most of the tractors you se in the cities are farmtractors
that are driving on contract for the authorities. It is
quite big over here. The farmers didn’t have a lot to do in
wintertime so they like the income from the snow. The
authorities don’t have a lot of work in the summer for all
the tractors needed in snow. So I think it is a good deal
for both partners.

Of course weather is never “normal” but we use to get 2-3
times of “serious” snow every winter. With that I mean
something between 5-20 cm of snow.

What did you do here in Denmark?

Take care… Shrek :o)

Re: Clearing snow in Denmark
Here's a Massey 352 in the same place, working with a brush.

Shrek,
Thats very interesting and deffinately seems a good idea.
I was wondering where all the tractors came from as there
were so many. Lots of Fords i thought, i remember a team of
a 6710, 7710 and 8340 all working together clearing the
street outside my window at night (very impressive) I tried
taking photos of them but it didnt work. I also saw quite a
few 8730's and 8830 powershifts. They seemed excelent on the
bigger snow ploughs. I remember one broke down however and
sat at the side of the road for a good month afterwards :-P
There were also many smaller machines for clearing and
gritting the cycle tracks. I assume these were operated by
the city ?

I was studying at KVL (Landbohojskole) in Copenhagen for 5
months this year and got to see some of your lovely country
:-D

Owain

p.s got a few more snow clearing photo's if anyone is
interested :-)
