Re: advertenties in midframe
They seem quite relevent to me.
Its not as if their adverts for insurance or anything.

Re: advertenties in midframe

Yeh, what is that for shit? It's much difficult to read
first posts on the homepage. So change it in original style.

Re: advertenties in midframe
Hi Guys.
I think they are quite annoying. But it is a free site so
maybe they are necessary. But they are really making it
difficult to se the latest photos. So Stu please take them
away…

Anyway it is still a dammmmn good site.

Take Care. Shrek…

Re: advertenties in midframe

Re: advertenties in midframe

sites kijkt.
als ut wel zo is laat dat dan ff wete, en als je dat doet,
heb je er dan wat an?:-\

Re: advertenties in midframe
was 1 of andere JD dealer of handelaar.
muisknop klikte. Maar anders nog nooit.

Re: advertenties in midframe

Re: advertenties in midframe

Re: advertenties in midframe
Ok, I'm not sure what everyone is saying outside of english
but, irritating as it is, like someone mentioned, it's a
free site, a damn good site, and it's only on the homepage.
But, maybe instead of taking them away, if we could just put
the recent/most active posts below it as they were before.
We'd just have to scroll down one second longer to see them.
:-) Don't worry Stu, I wouldn't stop visiting just because
of that! ;-)

Re: advertenties in midframe
Besides, AJ2 should like the "farmersonly.com" link, he
seems to be in need of that service right now. :-D It is a
shame that for a while there it was the most popular thread
on the site. It's still in the Top 10 though.... :-( :-\

Re: advertenties in midframe
Hi guys,

in a way i am glad to see that my change in advertising
layout caused some response, even if it was pretty mixed!
:-[

Given that this site has about 4000 visitors per day I get
very little feedback so I rarely know whether I am doing
something right or wrong.

My short term aim with the google advertizing is to generate
enough income to be able to afford more bandwidth. I think I
am almost there now. Site speed seems to be the biggest
complaint around here. You may have noticed that over the
last few days I have no longer had the CoralCDN mirror as
the default (although this has caused some other problems
such as 'Server Too Busy' errors :-( ). In the long term my
goal (pipe dream?) is to be able to afford to pay a real
programmer to fix the site's various shuortcomings.

Unfotunately, the google ads aren't even close to reaching
my second goal so I have decided to try experimenting a
little with colors, layout etc to see if I can't improve
performance. Hence the big square ad that is at the root of
this discussion. (By the way, after only a few hours this ad
seems to almost be doubling site revenue....).

I really don't mind the feedback/criticism. If you guys
don't tell me what you think then I will never be able to
improve the site.

Re: advertenties in midframe
I'm not pleased about the layout of the homepage, I can't
see the most active threads en stuff like that, so if you
would change that, I would appreciate that.

Re: advertenties in midframe
Hi Patrick, is it better now that I have removed the
vertical banner at far right or is it still no good? On my
screen everything fits well but I have quite a wide
monitor...

Re: advertenties in midframe
And that's for me too what Patrick says. The layout like it
always has been was much better then this one. So i think
that the most people here will that you will replace it to
the normal way like it was before.
