Stu Pocknee's 'RowBots'
These are part of the reason this site doesn't get the
updates it requires! In my day job I am a researcher at the
University of Georgia. One of my projects involves these
'Rowbots'. We designed them from the ground up as autonomous
tractor research platforms. I have two because I am looking
at ways that robotic vehicles can interact with each
cooperatively.

Here they are in a peanut field.

A front-on shot of one of the units spraying (just water).
They use GPS to follow a predefined path.

Re: Stu Pocknee's 'RowBots'
I wanted these machines to have multi-mode controls. Thus we
designed in a rudimentary operator station for manual
control even though they are designed primarily for
autonomous or remote control. This is me at the helm.

Another episode of 'hit and miss' experimentation finished.
Time to go back to the shop!

Stu, this is brilliant, you are a clever guy! I tried making a robot once After watching "robot wars" on the TV ! ( It never worked that well.) Did you get them to work Stu?

Re: Stu Pocknee's 'RowBots'
Hi internash, they are a work in progress still but they do the basic things quite well. It can be a bit hairy when they get out of control!
