Re: 5020s
jdeere,
I like the 5050 with 400hp Cummins motor, I could put it to work on my farm any day :-)

Re: 5020s
thats a one and only like the 8970 in my avatar with a 1150ci Cummins with 600HP also from Kinze.
i like the custom built hood on that on,similar like a 8000 series, just wider.

Re: 5020s
Was wondering what model JD your avatar was.
There are a few 86 & 8850's out there with Cummins engines.
Was the original 8850 V8 engine very reliable?

Re: 5020s
One day I would like to replace my 4755 with a JD artic. Not a new one though, a tidy used one. When that time comes around, with the help from my friends I have made on FP, perhaps I can locate one :-)

Re: 5020s
about the V8,NOT verry good, later the biggest 60 and 70 series got the N14 Cummins.
about a used artic, dont go older than 50 series,30 and 40 series had head gasket problems.
and finally let ME know about the 4755 before you sell it to everyone else!;-)

Re: 5020s
jdeere,
Thanks for the advice, I had a feeling the JD V8 wasn't too good. As for JD artic's an 8650 would be about the size.
I am not going to trade the 4755 just yet, when I do, will let you know.
In the UK, after the 86 & 8850 were introduced, there was a long gap of several years before artics were available.Over here there were entire ranges we completely missed out on.
