I think these mudguards are especially for Austria because
I've seen more IH tractors in Austria with this mudguards.
Re: International 434 - 1975
Until the beginning of the 1960's some IH tractors like the
B-275 and B-414 seem to be sold with the standard "elephant
ear type" mudguards in Austria. Later B-275, B-414, 276 and
434 were sold with broader mudguards, because due to new
legislations the whole width of the wheels had to be
covered. A similar law existed and exists in germany.
Re: International 434 - 1975
Thank you very much. These mudguards are for the safety,
isn't it?

Re: International 434 - 1975
Hi Edwin,

you are right, these mudguards are for safety, because for
example the driver's hands or even his clothes can't be
"caught" by the rear tires so easily. In addition to that,
most older tractors have a passenger seat on one of the
mudguards. I am not sure but I think in Germany a passenger
seat is recommended by legislation.

Best regards
