Rolling, rolling, rolling..
Picture was taken spring -98. My father (Thank god! it
wasn't me, then I would probably never been able to post
this..) forgot to engage the handbrake when he got out to
loosen a rope which was stuck on the 600kg "bag" of
fertilizer on the loader. When he had loosened the rope, he
saw the end of the rope being dragged across the lawn and
before he had the time to think he saw the tractor, seeder
(which he off course just had filled with seeds and
fertilizer), AND the 600kg bag on the loader roll over the
edge and down a 45 degree, 10m long hillside. I think it
took me about three steps to jump down the hillside to stop
the engine which was pumping out oil..
Re: Rolling, rolling, rolling..
It looked really bad, but all that had to be done was to
replace the fiberglass rooftop, glass in both doors, rear
window, one rear work light and right side mirror, "clean"
the engine and adjust one of the struts on the 3-point
hitch. Obviously, there was no point trying to fix the
seeder, so my father had to get a "new" one. Now, almost six
years later the Deere is still going strong!(See link)
