Silaging 98 in Canada.
Re: 4560
Great combination! ( only there should be some nice Michelin
Xeobib tyres on the deere )

Because of changes in the law in Holland there will be much
more grass silaging for the 2006 season. So contractors in
my neighbourhood are investing in some ( mostly second-hand
) SP foragers for the peak times in the coming grass season.
One of them ( he already has JD 7400, 6950, 6910 ) was
making jokes about buying a PTO driven model for behind his
JD 8410. I can only hope he stops making jokes about it and
buys a harvester for his 8410 ( tractor has very nice 900
michelin tyres ). That would be a very nice combination!
Re: 4560
Pulltype harvesters do not have near the capacity of SP
units. They are very common here but it is not efficient
enough for larger farms. We could do about 60 acres a day
with the combo in that picture. That was in 1998, it is our
neighbours harvester. In 2005 we had 250 acres of alfalfa
and with a contractor with a Claas 830 we could do it in one
day which is much better for the feed quality than
harvesting for 4 or 5 days. Also simpler since you don't
need to cut a little every day.

We could afford a pull-type harvester to run with our JD
8120 but feed quality is our #1 priority. A new
self-propelled harvester is way to expensive and I don't
trust a used one so we'll stick to calling the contractor to
come with a harvester and dumptrailer. We have everything
else that's needed.
Re: 4560
In Canada the bigger outfits switch to SP.pull-type woud be
okay, but all you can buy is not big enough.
Re: 4560
Another outfit in Alberta
Re: 4560
the last two look the same
Re: 4560
the last two look the same

but its not

2nd last is the same as 1st,a 4560 with Hesston chopper and 3 axle Jiffy dump.

the last is a 4650 with the same chopper but in red sold by Case and a similar high-dump.

pics where taken in the same year not to far apart but on to diff. farms.
