Leyland conversion by County, not?

Re: County Leyland 485
I don't think County ever touch a Leyland/Nuffield.
Bray has converted Leyland and Nuffields to 4 equal wheel
drives.

Re: County Leyland 485
County converted also Leyland tractors, but only a very few,
I think. Bray also converted Leyland/Nuffield tractors, but
they have other frontaxles. You can read more about the Bray
Leyland tractors in the English magazine Classic Tractor. I
thought only 3 or 4 of the Bray Leyland are known at this
moment.

Re: County Leyland 485
Edwin is right, both tractors have been made by County and
were sold by Leyland, too. Bray used a much different
technical layout.

Re: County Leyland 485
There is nothing County about this tractor, it is designed
and build by Leyland. Read Classic tractor magazine june
2006 . The 485 had the same engine as the 4100 and had 85
hp. The 4wheeldrive is the same system as County used, with
two propshafts coming from the rear to power the
frontwheels.

Re: County Leyland 485
Denbute, I also read the Classic Tractor ;-) But I think the
4 WD system was made by County.

Re: County Leyland 485
@Edwin : I guess you must have had another edition than
me;-)
Because mine says Leyland designed it theirselves.
page 8 2nd column : "Leyland was unique in the UK tractor
market because it developed, manufactured and marketed its
own equal-sized four-wheel drive tractor, which it claimed
enabled it to offer a high-quality machine at a verry
competitive price."

But it was the same system as County used to convert Ford
and some Leyland tractors.

Re: County Leyland 485
Hello, I have all the issues of the Classic Tractor. The
story about the Leyland 4 WD's was in the last issue. But I
hadden't time to read it ;-)

Best regards, Edwin.
