Re: Gleaner R40
Hi Johan,

Yes this is the smallest of the R series machines. This is
an older model one, from about 1990 or so. My family used
to have one, but we now have an R62!:-D

Oh thats new for me. that you have a farm at home. What for
tractors does you have on that farm? Allis-Chalmers or not
more? Bought an Agco DT serie those look great.

Re: Gleaner R40
Hi Johan,

I don't have my own farm, but I have some family members
that farm. My uncle, who owns the Gleaner, has 5 Case IH:-)
and one John Deere :-(tractor. I will try to get some photos
of them if I can ever think of it. A couple other family
members farm, and they use all John Deere.:-( I like Allis
Chalmers because many farmers in my area use them, and I
have driven a couple of them, and they are very nice
machines!:-D

Re: Gleaner R40
he lance. I dont now that the are many Allis-Chalmers
tractors working. I thought that it was a little bit of
those tractors thats driving and working now. because its a
long time ago when the last A-C was build. And why are you
dont like J-D because i love driving a Green monster, its
one off the best tractors ever. Here by my neighbour the has
3 John-Deere tractors (3350, 6610 and a 6400) super quality
and a lot off power.

Re: Gleaner R40
Hi Johan,

There are quite a few AC's running around here. I have never
really like JD, but I really don't like the new ones. I'm a
Case IH guy, because that's what we have always used. I
don't like JD combines either, you could not pay me to use
one of the new ones. Seen way too many of them throw beans
and corn out of the back of them. The John Deere that my
uncle uses is mainly a loader tractor, and is used in his
tobacco fields. I'm not helping him right now because I am
in school.

Johan,

I will turn 20 in a little more than a month. Some people
think that because of my age that I know nothing about
farming. But I know lots of stuff about it, but I do have
LOTS to learn. I'm in college, this is my 2nd year. Isn't
the IH 745XL only sold in Europe? It is a nice looking
tractor, and I bet a good one, because it's a IH!:-)

Re: Gleaner R40
Hey guys, ain't nothing wrong with being young. I just
turned 22 and am at the University of Nebraska in my Senior
year of Ag Systems Management. I agree with Lance, we know
alot, but have alot to learn. That is what makes it great,
because the future of agriculture is eager to learn from old
and new. Good luck with finals (at least here it is getting
to that time).

Re: Gleaner R40
Hey Doug,

Yep next week we have finals. I am at a school now just
working on General Education requirements, but I plan on
transferring to another school to major in Ag Education.
About the age thing, I thought you were much older than
that! Don't ask me why, but I don't really know. Maybe it is
because you act mature and don't do some of the stupid stuff
I did when I first joined this site. Well I know better
now!:-[ Oh and good luck with your finals.:-)
